Deanna Audrey Hammond is a San Francisco native who has been performing locally and internationally since 2005. While studying in Tucson, AZ, she began her career as a Primary Performer with pyrotechnic theater company Flam Chen (flam-chen.com). Deanna performed in more than 120 performances sometimes using multiple skills in a single show. As a member of Flam Chen she was hired for many different events including: corporate functions and parties, local, regional and international festivals, public and private installations, fashion shows and television awards ceremonies. Her performance experience includes: aerial, solo and group dance, stilt choreography, stilt walking and dancing, aerial and stilt acrobatics 4-legged stilt ‘creaturing’, fire spinning and dancing, helium balloon rigging, outdoor balloon suspension aerial performance, costume, tool/prop design and fabrication as well as make-up design and application. Deanna is currently working with talented and unique local musicians to build meaningful collaborative performance art. Her goal is to leap outside of traditional frameworks and create what she considers 'complete' shows that are stimulating and entertaining on a variety of levels. Via proxy and collaboration, she introduces audience members to entirely new genres of music, art and collaboration and in doing so challenges traditionally held conceptions of reality and human potential. Her performances strive to simultaneously elicit feelings of wonder and rapture that transport the audience to an alternate state. Only when the show ends will they once again notice the people around them, their clothing, and the untouched drink at their feet... Deanna is currently searching for an appropriate warehouse space in San Francisco to further develop her large-scale ‘people chandelier’ crane rig installations. Large-scale public spectacle is her forte – she can be found hanging in the 'ribbons' from trees in San Francisco's public parks on a regular basis. Interested in our projects? Wanna help?
