Aerial Silks How To Straddle Climb_People Chandelier
A simple aerial silk/tissu instructional video. The basic straddle climb or star climb is fundamental to tissu dance.
Other things one should emphasize when practicing:
-clean straddle up whether using straight or bent knees. POINT YOUR TOES, if legs are straight, try to keep them very straight. If bent, really bent- try to touch the tips of your toes together.
-trying to keep your shoulders away from your ears
-consistency between climbs: ie, how many times do you grab above the knee before you drop and go up again? it should be the same each time. 3 is generally good
-When you reach up above your bent knee, you can use your other leg as a pendulum, swinging it down so that your upper body will see-saw up, allowing you to grab higher.
I hope you find this video informative and useful. No video can replace a live instructor. If you are practicing aerial silks, take as many classes with as many instructors as you possibly can - it's the best way to stay safe and improve your skills. :) [peoplechandelier.com]
